We created Love + Work to help couples transform their marriages by pursuing a common dream together. We developed the 21-Day Partnership Challenge as a relationship investment tool, offering practical ideas and activities to help couples communicate better as a partnership.
Objectives:
After 25 years of marriage and two decades of working together in our business, we realized the relational benefits of chasing big-picture goals together. We launched Love Plus Work in 2017 to share these ideas, believing other couples could benefit.
The 21-Day Partnership Challenge was our platform centerpiece. The seven-week email course automatically sent individual prompts (PDF worksheets) three times a week. Each prompt offered a practical idea or activity to help couples communicate better. We also had a Facebook group for anyone to process any relational questions that may come up.
Outcome:
We received a lot of positive feedback from those who participated in the challenge. They found most prompts provided an opportunity to talk about topics they hadn’t considered or ones that were difficult to discuss.
The biggest challenge for everyone was time. A number of prompts required time to process, making it difficult to complete before the next email arrived. Ultimately, we realized that sending three emails a week was too much for people with busy lives. It came down to how much time participants could invest.
Having said that, we still hear from couples who have benefited from the Challenge, which is always great. We also continue to see people downloading it periodically, believing it’s still making a positive impact—one couple at a time.

We looked forward to getting the emails with their lighthearted tone and thoughtful questions. The discussion questions were focused and yet open-ended, and they facilitated reflection and conversations that we otherwise might not have made space for. What a wonderful way to grow closer together!
